Environmental & Research Officer

We are looking for a dynamic Environmental & Research Officer to join our team in creating, developing and operating sustainable hydropower schemes. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake research (commercial and Government) using your own initiative
  • Write analytical articles/reports, news and summary reports to tight deadlines
  • Environment and planning – assisting the team with environmental assessments, applications and queries
  • Writing technical and environmental standards
  • Visits to sites and meetings with surveyors and regulatory bodies
  • Work as part of a team to suggest improvements which will benefit our clients.

Experience & Education:

  • A relevant environmental, scientific or analytical qualification
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and climate change and the impact on socio-economics
  • Ability to analyse complex policy and scientific information and summarise concisely
  • Have an understanding of environmental policy developments
  • Some site based experience is an advantage
  • A working knowledge of GIS mapping software would be useful

 Key Skills

  • Excellent written English and numeracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Data analysis skills using Excel an advantage
  • Competent user of MS Office (especially Word & Excel), Internet research tools, content management systems
  • Good presentation skills could be useful
