He has steered the growth of the company to becoming a leading Hydropower Consultancy and under his leadership Hydroplan has successfully completed over 700 assignments in the last 25 years. Kieron is one of the founders of the British Hydropower Association (BHA) and a key member for over 20 years.
Associate Director - Design Manager
A Civil Engineer with 12 years’ experience in the construction and hydro industry. Robert joined the team in 2010, where he worked his way up to lead designer and Design Manager. He is responsible for the overall design of hydro schemes and manages design engineers in the UK and Nepal. Robert is currently progressing his professional development to become a Chartered Civil Engineer with the Institute of Civil Engineers.
Associate Director - Environmental & Planning
An Environmental scientist, Harry is responsible for overseeing site assessments and feasibility studies, through to planning and consenting environmental licence applications. He is also assistant engineer in the Due Diligence team. Since joining in 2009, he has been involved in over 150 projects – fully consented over 70 small hydro schemes and worked on more than 5 Due Diligence jobs.
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
A product designer with 10 years experience in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of hydropower projects. Adam is experienced in the holistic engineering of developing hydropower and is responsible for overseeing and delivering Operation & Maintenance services on a broad range of hydropower schemes. He is based in our Scottish office and is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
SENIOR CONSULTANT & HV SPECIALIST
An Electrical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering (MIET), associated with Hydroplan since 2002, bringing an understanding and experience of all aspects of power systems including generations, transmission & distribution. John has more than 40 years of experience around the world ranging in scale from small island utility systems to major river cascades of more than 1.000MW.
SENIOR CONSULTANT & DAM ENGINEER
A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and internationally recognised dam expert with over 40 years’ experience in dam engineering. Andrew has worked on 200 dam projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and N. America and is an All Reservoirs Panel Engineer under the Reservoirs Act 1975 and Reservoirs (Scotland)2001. He has also acted as an expert witness on a number of court cases and provided technical opinions on dam failures for insurance companies.
Senior project manager
A Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years’ experience in the engineering and construction sector. Since joining Hydroplan in 2010, Andrew has project managed and commissioned over 15 hydro schemes in Scotland and Northern Ireland ranging in size from 100kW to 2MW. He has a wide range of design and construction experience across all aspects of the projects including HV & LV electrical installations, civil works, mechanical, commercial contracts and grid connections.
Andrew has a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Senior project manager
A Chartered Engineer with 15 years’ experience of managing complex engineering projects. John worked in various industrial and construction roles before joining Hydroplan in 2014. Since then he has project managed the construction of 10 hydropower schemes , including numerous High Voltage substations and over 40km of cable installation.
John has a PhD in Fluid Dynamics and a BSc in Physics
An Associate member of the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Audrey joined the company in 2002 where she has worked her way up to Office Manager. She is responsible for overseeing the day to day business, as well as heading up the HR team.
